| Brass, on mahogany base 16" wide x 5 7/8" deep, overall 13" high. Four weights (1/2, 1, 2, and 4 oz.) recessed in base. Ladder-shaped frame holds three beams. Lower two unequal-arm beams with hanging plates fixed at 1/2 and 1 oz. weights respectively. Top equal-arm beam with hanging plate and pan pre-loaded to 1 1/2 oz., with 9 oz. total capacity by addition of weights to pan. Made for GPO use, ca. 1870.
